Mechanical Equipment Sales Representative

Introduction:

Industrial elevator and construction equipment sales, service, and distribution company located in South Houston, League City area is looking for a motivated and goal oriented mechanical equipment sales representative who has a mechanical aptitude for an exciting employment opportunity in sales of German engineered and manufactured rack & pinion industrial elevators, material lifts, and transport platforms designed for vertical transportation of personnel and material. This position will report to the Houston office, and will assist in the development new sales and distribution networks.

Job Purpose:

The new inside sales professional should have a good technical knowledge of the product line and its applications, and knowledge of related codes, as well as reading technical specifications, understanding job plans, together with a working knowledge of business matters as relates to preparing sales budgets, forecasts, bid proposals, estimates, sales calls, project research, project management, and general sales coordinator responsibilities. 

Scope of Work:

  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with existing customers while developing new customer accounts.

  • Providing sales and administrative support involving efficient handling of top and confidential agreements.

  • Sales travel as required, and attend and participate in trade exhibitions and trade organizations on as needed basis.

  • Preparing monthly and weekly sales analysis.

  • Preparing proposals, agreements, sales reports, and presentations

  • Updating the status of sales orders/quotes in our database or systems

  • Maintain and update all outstanding customer proposals, and keep company reports & logs accurate and up-to-date.

  • Collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and accounting the information in order to increase productivity of sales.

  • Coordinating and responding to all requests of internal meetings

  • Assisting in the implementation of sales strategy as prepared by the sales manager

  • Assist in execution of ongoing contracts as required.

  • Demonstrate ability to perform duties and responsibilities.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work effectively with all customers, and all levels of GEDA employees.

  • Effective use of all GEDA processes and systems in achieving individual goals.

  • Ensure GEDA's reputation with customers is enhanced their effective communication.

  • Compliance with HR related processes

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • BA Business Administration

  • Three + years’ experience in estimating, or sales of industrial equipment (or other technical / commercial experience within the company), preferably in heavy industry or construction area.  

  • Skill with business development in large construction projects with related RFQ processes, proposal development, technical analysis, and typical commercial terms & conditions. Must be able to read legal contractual agreements.

  • Outgoing, and sales-oriented in nature. Also, very detailed oriented and a self-starter. 

  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining accuracy of work and meeting tight deadlines; adjusting hours when required.

  • Strong organizational, and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and advance knowledge with Excel Spreadsheets.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree
  • Clean background check
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience
  • Skill with business development in large construction projects
  • Travel – 30%
